Longboard:Source [www.longboardsource.co.uk] was a new addition to the skating scene when it launched in 2009. With professional skater Matt Pearce at the helm, the objective for Longboard:Source is to become the trusted name within the Longboard skating market. Based on links with consumers and those competing within this sports area as well as the company's fantastic knowledge and experience marketing online, Longboard:Source has made a great start in the creation of their brand.
Objective:
Although the company had a clear vision of how they wanted to appear and what voice they would adopt, the Longboard:Source brand required an online presence to market this persona and sell products. Working with Webfaced allowed the Longboard:Source team to put this vision onto the screen. The company's first ever website needed to be designed and built and with amazing knowledge of the market this initial phase was well thought out and carefully executed.
Solution:
The Webfaced team worked very closely with Longboard:Source and tried to get a clear idea of who the customer was, what they did and what influenced them. This fed the Webfaced graphic design team with everything they required to create a striking and memorable design which went on to become the eCommerce site that can be seen in use today. The project was based around a small budget due to the start-up nature of the project. With clear ideas in terms of functionality the site ticked all of the boxes for Longboard:Source. The launch was supported by a full online marketing strategy focusing particularly hard on Online PR and Social Media work.
Results:
Due to the great work done on the online marketing side and Matt's position within the industry the impact of the site was instantaneous. The smooth eCommerce system has provided a confident start to the business's first quarter trading whilst the functionality supplied through Actinic has given Longboard:Source the ability to manage their product catalogue without issue.
