Pour Les Enfants is a brand new online retailer of quality childrens games, toys and gifts. Pour Les Enfants approached Webfaced in order to gain support for the design and development of their website on the Actinic ecommerce platform that they had been recommended but never used in the past.
Although new to setting up an online retail business from scratch the client had experience within digital development. The overall objective was heavily focused towards creating the right “look and feel” for the new business. The brand’s USP was “quality” and as such the site needed to take on a quality appearance whilst remaining fun and interesting for the end-user. The development process needed to ensure that the website was friendly, logical, intuitive and well placed to perform well within the search engines.
Webfaced were quick to identify a theme for the site based on what we learnt about the products that would be sold and the long term aims of the owners. The site designs, after just a single round of iterations were translated into coded pages within the Actinic framework. Custom variables and database amendments were then made to support the tailored setup for quicker editing. The site was then uploaded to Webfaced’s staging server in order to test all elements. Webfaced worked on numerous custom add-ons for Actinic surrounding stock control, user’s information capture and visual effects such as image “lightbox” enlargers.
The initial design produced for Pour Les Enfants was perfect and the overall look and feel was translated nicely across to the working code which supported all of the company’s objectives. The design and the extended product views with image zoom functionality all helped to make the launch of the site a success. This success has grown as time has gone on and Pour Les Enfants continue to grow their business based on the Actinic website we were able to create for them.
